Jewellery by Rebecca Ward made for 'Token Love', a JMGQ
exhibition that challenged participants to scratch beneath the surface of
adornment. Rebecca created a range of works invesigating the vexed notion
of fertility in the modern age.
"If science is the dominant contemporary religion, or way that we understand
the world, then I am looking at ways to reinterpret fertility charms using
the 'wisdom' of our time. The works also grew out of this initial idea to
touch upon how science is not only explaining but also manipulating fertility".
