Lost and Found Gallery
Rebecca Ward's Lost and Found jewellery was developed in 2001
and 2002 after spending time in New Zealand working withDunedin scultptor
and jeweller, David McLeod.
She states, "I wish to invoke the flotsam and jetsam of human experience.
We gather all sorts of objects as souvenirs only to find them again later,
reliving the first moment of discovery. The "paddle" motif is a
metaphor for life's journey. However the paddles are not what you might expect:
Looking at the paddles, you will see that they will not take you straight
along your carefully plotted path. Just like in life, the journey you end
up taking may be unexpected. The jewellery is worn like a souvenir of life's
unanticipated experiences."
Please see the fossicking gallery, to discover the places where stones were found.
